Three new features and “the most beautiful golf club terrace in North Rhine-Westphalia”

Is one really on a golf course at the Westfälischer Golf-Club Gütersloh? Time-honoured stands of oak and beech trees line the fairways. Roe deer, hares and numerous bird species are at home here. For example, the kingfisher has made its home on the golf course for several years now. Furthermore, cuckoos, herons and coots are evidence of an intact natural environment. In addition, the beautifully landscaped ponds and wetland habitats provide a habitat for numerous animal species. The golf course, which now covers an area of 60 hectares, and the surrounding natural landscape create an almost paradisiacal atmosphere.

For club manager Katja Ingenhoven, “the club’s participation in the DGV’s Golf&Natur quality management programme and the award of gold” was one of three reasons for bringing her expertise as a DGV business manager to this club in 2023. “Furthermore,” says the active golfer herself (HC -24), “I appreciate the extensive support and guidance for young people, which has been recognised with the DGV Gold Award for Youth Development, as well as the club’s sporting focus with various teams across all age groups, including in the 2nd Bundesliga, DGL teams and in the regional and state leagues.”

As a qualified financial administrator, business administrator (FH) and having passed the tax consultant examination, Katja Ingenhoven possesses comprehensive specialist knowledge in the fields of finance, taxation and association law. Previously, Katja Ingenhoven was club manager at Verden Golf Club, where she had already gained valuable practical experience with PC CADDIE software. Ultimately, the high IT standard was also the reason for introducing PC CADDIE at the Westfälischer Golf-Club Gütersloh. The biggest challenge was switching to PC CADDIE in February, practically in the middle of pre-season preparations, and sending out membership fee invoices to members smoothly within a very short time. “Thanks to the excellent training our club team received, it worked brilliantly,” says Ingenhoven. A great start for the club management, but also for Harald Held, who was elected as the golf club’s new president in 2023. The 12th to hold the post since the club’s foundation in 1969. That completed the three innovations of the year!

After the baptism of fire during the first few months, Katja Ingenhoven sums up the concrete benefits of using PC CADDIE in day-to-day operations: “First and foremost, I would mention how user-friendly the app is for members and guests. Then there are the options for external online presentation via the app, the info screen and the integration options on the homepage. Furthermore, the cash register module and invoicing are much more structured and easier to manage. Last but not least: the Timetable, with the simultaneous booking of Carts and trolleys and payment directly through this system, is unbeatable.” The features in the app, including payment functions for green fees, golf instructors, ball cards, Trackman and catering, are in the planning stage and have already been partially implemented. And what else does Katja Ingenhoven appreciate about her workplace? Answer: “The great camaraderie between members and staff, the quality of the championship course and the excellent catering with the most beautiful terrace in North Rhine-Westphalia.”
