In an interview with the BVGA, Marc Spangenberger, Managing Director of PC CADDIE, explains why the cheapest solution is often the most expensive, what data sovereignty has to do with a company’s value – and what question every operator should ask before signing on the dotted line.

It is still largely unheard of in the golf industry for a golf club to outsource its membership fee administration to an external service provider. The various membership options, family structures, payment terms and methods, as well as the multitude of additional services such as caddy box hire, appear too complex. One person who has taken this step is Wilhelm Eckard Sindt, owner and managing director of the Golf & Landclub Gut Uhlenhorst.

Tee times – has the tee-time system had its day?

Before March 2020, discussions about tee times were still heated. For many members, mostly at traditional golf clubs, playing without fixed tee times is seen as a mark of quality, offering a high degree of freedom in how they manage their time.

Anyone visiting friends as a guest naturally greets them with a friendly “Hello”. This is not merely a gesture of politeness, but also allows the host to prepare for the guest’s arrival. In many leisure facilities, this “Hello” is facilitated by a reception area; where visitor numbers are high, it is often replaced by a digital “Hello” in the form of a check-in.

Interlocked golf and hotel offers, so that hotel guests can charge everything to the room: a green fee, exercise balls from the ball machine, a cola from the drinks machine and their meal in the club restaurant.
