Everything runs smoothly with PC CADDIE – at Germany’s most popular golf course
When Jan Langenbein talks about his golf course, you realise straight away that this is someone who is truly passionate about his work. Yet, for all his enthusiasm for spectacular fairways and first-class service, the club manager of Budersand Golf Club on Sylt adheres to a principle that is as simple as it is crucial:
“The figures have to add up.”
With a mischievous smile, the 46-year-old adds: “We have a great many green fee guests and numerous tournaments. Our daily takings are correspondingly high. I need to be able to rely one hundred per cent on a stable IT system.” That is precisely why Budersand has relied on PC CADDIE ever since the course opened 18 years ago – and Langenbein, too, has relied on the system every day since moving to Hörnum two and a half years ago. “It simply works. And in the few isolated cases where help is needed, PC CADDIE’s expert support team is immediately available.”
Langenbein’s professional background alone shows just how much he lives and breathes golf. Before taking on responsibility on Sylt, he made his mark on the golfing scene as editor-in-chief of the renowned lifestyle magazine GolfPunk. Today, he combines his media experience with a keen understanding of the needs of discerning golfers – and, together with his team, is continuously developing the exclusive five-star Budersand resort.
And with great success: the challenging 18-hole links course has been ranked among Germany’s finest for years. At the GOLF MAGAZIN Travel Awards, Budersand was voted Germany’s most popular golf course in both 2025 and 2026. An accolade that impressively confirms the exceptional quality of the course and the entire resort. For Langenbein, the secret to success lies in the right balance between sporting challenge and a genuine holiday atmosphere. Together with Head Greenkeeper Stefan Hansen, he ensures that course quality, day-to-day operations and service mesh together perfectly. At the same time, he combines golf with the resort’s culinary and cultural highlights – for example, during the head chef’s exclusive ‘Felix & Friends’ series of events, where he accompanies guests with personal anecdotes about the Course. This authentic, Nordic-style hospitality makes Budersand a special experience far beyond the borders of Sylt.
And how often does the golf manager actually manage to get out for a round himself? – “When I see the sunrise over the dunes in the morning, I often think: ‘I’m playing 18 holes today’,” says Langenbein with a laugh. “By midday, I’m hoping for at least nine. And by the evening, the day’s already over.” A statement that reveals a lot about him. Because for Jan Langenbein, one thing always comes first: the guests.
And that’s precisely why, at Germany’s most popular golf course, it’s not just the game that’s going strong – but the takings too. Thanks to PC CADDIE.”
