Planned mandatory use of cash registers from 2027: Current status

According to the coalition agreement, the German government plans to introduce a mandatory cash register requirement from 2027. The aim is to further expand the use of tamper-proof electronic cash register systems and to increase transparency regarding cash transactions. At present, this remains at the policy planning stage. No specific legislation has yet been introduced, and key details are still being clarified.
These include, amongst other things, the precise scope of the requirement, possible turnover thresholds and the sectors affected. Certain requirements already apply to electronic cash register systems, such as the use of a technical security device (TSE), the obligation to issue receipts and reporting obligations to the tax authorities.

For golf courses, club restaurants and other leisure businesses, this issue may become relevant in the future, particularly if no electronic cash register system is currently in use. It is advisable to keep an eye on further legislative developments and to assess at an early stage what implications this could have for your own business.

Regardless of legislative developments, PC CADDIE customers benefit from additional operational advantages: the till is directly linked to other modules, so that bookings, turnover and customer information are consolidated centrally. This simplifies processes, reduces the need for reconciliation and creates a unified database across reception, the pro shop and catering.
