It all began 33 years ago with an unusual idea: a farmer from Patting wanted to build a golf course—without ever having swung a club himself. This bold vision gave rise to a family business that is now one of the most exciting golf courses in Germany. His daughter Maria Bauhuber took over the reins in 2009. With a great deal of passion and an unshakeable pioneering spirit, she has since continued her father's work as club manager and owner of the facility. Her motivation: to make golf accessible to everyone and to combine tradition with innovation.
In 2017, Maria Bauhuber made a mark on the German golfing world: she had the first and so far only reversible golf course in Germany built – a concept that is otherwise only found once in Europe, in Holland. Her course can be played clockwise or counterclockwise, ensuring a constantly new playing experience. "Golfers think it's great – every day is a little adventure," she says proudly. The reversible course is complemented by the Kampenwand course, a 9-hole variant that allows for fast, short play and motivates both newcomers and experienced players. Together, they form an 18-hole course that meets the highest international standards and blends harmoniously into the natural surroundings.
But REVERSIBLE GOLF PATTING is not only a pioneer in terms of landscape and sport – the facility is also breaking new ground in terms of organization. From the very beginning, Marie has focused on digitalization. Her partner in this endeavor: PC CADDIE. "We have always used PC CADDIE – and for me it was clear that only with such a partner could I go down the digital route." Today, many things are paperless: membership applications, course and tournament bookings. "In the future," Maria Bauhuber hopes, "paying for events of all kinds should also work digitally," giving PC CADDIE a "personal homework assignment" on the way to a shared future. This digital openness makes the facility both modern and approachable: uncomplicated, user-friendly, service-oriented. This is how a traditional family business of the past is becoming a golf club of the future.
The last few years have not been easy. Corona challenged the REVERSIBLE GOLF PATTING golf course. But instead of giving up, Maria Bauhuber used the time to further develop processes, gather ideas, and make plans. Now it's time to get started and never lose your cool: clockwise and counterclockwise.
