Life writes this story: Founded in 1999, the Lipperswil Golf Club decided to change ownership in the fall of 2022. From then on, the members were to take over the club. The entire board of directors, part of the club's executive committee and the club management were also replaced. It quickly became clear that the long-standing members and entrepreneurs Alexandra Sola-Schmidt and Christopher Schmidt would be responsible for the management. "In job sharing," says Christopher Schmidt, "we take care of the well-being of around 850 members and around 3,000 guests on our beautiful 27 fairways as well as in the excellent catering facilities of the Twenty7 restaurant."
To ensure that this works as well as possible, the sporty couple switched their software provider to PC CADDIE. "On the one hand, the previous version seemed outdated to us and on the other, there were always technical problems," recalls Christopher Schmidt, whose professional background includes business expertise in strategy consulting and project management.
It is therefore fair to say that Lipperswil Golf Club is a family-run business. "The tasks are distributed in such a way," explains Christopher Schmidt, "that my wife, as a former TV presenter and journalist, primarily takes care of member support, major external events and internal and external communication, while I am mainly responsible for general company management, projects, greenkeeping and IT." The processes have been running more and more smoothly for almost a year now. It was therefore logical to update the software to the latest and most convenient version. "The switch to PC CADDIE was exactly right," says Christopher Schmidt. The members and green fee players are familiar with PC CADDIE from many other clubs in Switzerland, particularly from the network of 12 Private Partner Golf (PPG) courses. They use the PC CADDIE app as a matter of course. At the same time, our team of 45 employees is becoming more professional, especially in the management and secretarial departments, thanks to PC CADDIE. A stable system that can do a great deal. Individual requirements can be integrated. In addition, the customer service is very friendly and competent. I'm sure it will stay that way".
And what is Christopher Schmidt's favorite course? "The 15th on the Burkert course, a long par 5, uphill. Difficult to play. Most tournaments are decided here. On the left is the forest, on the right there is the threat of high rough in places. On the green, you almost reach the highest point of the golf course, enjoy the view of the Alps and perhaps a birdie before the next challenge, a long, difficult par 3."
