The Managing Director of GC Pleiskirchen, Rudi Hofer, feels very much in the spirit of Emperor Franz: "No one can separate good friends". After a brief excursion to a new software provider in the golf market, the club management and secretariat are once again relying on the expertise of PC CADDIE. The native Bavarian (HCP: -14.9) and founding member of GC Pleiskirchen not only knows the golf business and its members inside out, but also understands the challenge of developing good software as a former IT entrepreneur. His summary: "Having all the necessary functions is not enough. If a lot of things are only possible in a cumbersome way, it is frustrating and leads to unnecessary errors".
Hofer justifies his decision to work with PC CADDIE again by saying that he knows from decades of experience how long it takes for a software product to overcome its teething troubles. PC CADDIE has been on the market for a long time and has long since passed this phase.
Hofer's patience ran out at the latest when it came to collecting contributions: "Every time we had a number of transfers from members with direct debit authorization and other members didn't pay because they thought they had signed a SEPA mandate. The reason: the software was not able to either indicate on the invoice that the amount was being collected or ask the recipient to transfer it. The problem could only be solved by carrying out two separate billing runs, i.e. duplicating the work.
Hofer continues: "We also have employees who are not golfers. They rely on the accuracy of the software. If the joint handicaps are calculated incorrectly in scramble tournaments, for example, then there are complaints after complaints and the employees have no way of correcting the errors. Here, too, it pays off for us that PC CADDIE is a mature, stable program.
According to Hofer, the advantages of pure cloud software are always offset by the risk of the Internet connection breaking down or the server being unavailable for other reasons. "We've experienced that too," reports Hofer.
Last but not least, Rudi Hofer appreciates PC CADDIE's customer service and support, which "is also very pleasant on a human level. We have full confidence in a good partnership and are happy to say "Servus PC Caddie".
