Almost 50 decision-makers from the golf industry were guests at the GOLF KnowHow Update at Golf Limpachtal on March 14, 2023. This format brings decision-makers from the golf industry up to date on relevant leadership topics. We have summarized the five most important learnings from the presentations.
PC CADDIE://online Managing Director Mr Axel Heck gave an outlook on the state of digitalization in golf. Customers here want the most diverse services for their own customer experience, which is increasingly shifting to the web and apps. Mr Jörg Eggen from Swiss Golf presented the Swiss Golf app, which was developed in cooperation with PC CADDIE and will be coming soon, especially the functionalities in handling General Play (Extra Day Score) rounds via the app as well as statistics functions.
Mr Joachim Geffken from GKMB classified the new data protection in Switzerland. Starting in the fall, a new data protection law and a new data protection regulation will apply to the Swiss. He showed that, for example, the inclusion of fonts and icons, for example from Google, in websites is no longer legitimate. Instead, repository fonts are recommended. Newsletter operators must also implement a double opt-in option.
Mr Raphaël Boullet from Swisscom gave tips for IT security. He pointed out that there is no single source of data security threats, but multiple ones. The biggest security risks for SMEs are phising, ransomware, malware, viruses and Trojans, and a lack of security awareness among employees. He also gave ideas for a basic protection process as well as a rescue chain in case of cyber attacks.
PC CADDIE AG offers comprehensive management support. Managing Director Mr Benedikt Schmedding showed how digital solutions counteract the shortage of skilled workers, but also make the entire business environment permanently more complex. The conclusion is that automation is taking on a greater role. PC CADDIE can handle small developments as well as large projects in this context. As examples of automation, examples of larger projects were shown in which complete processes in golf courses were fully automated in the interaction of customer management, booking and access systems.
